The Story Behind Our Memory Bears
My brother and best friend, Michael, passed away in 2014 following a battle with lung cancer. Thinking of Michael’s love of bears I decided to use some of his signature Hawaiian shirts to make a bear in his memory. “Mikey Bear” brought me great comfort – something I could hold and hug when I missed him most. I decided others might find comfort as I did through handmade memory bears representing their loved ones. I created “Stitched by Susie” to share my vision.

MEMORY BEARS
My Memory Bears are made from clothing of a loved one/person of honor. Shirts, pants, bandanas, skirts, etc. Small designs are best but can work with larger designs. Contact me for details/custom quote.
18″ MEMORY BEAR $90+
Our most popular bear. Sewn in arms and legs. Heart shaped nose, glass safety eyes. Name embroidered on paw.
14″ BABY BEAR $65
18″ BRIDE BEAR $200+
Is your wedding dress in a box in the top of your closet? Why not have a one-of-a-kind, custom designed Bride Bear made especially for you? I can incorporate your veil and other bridal items. Includes name embroidered on paw, heart shaped nose and glass safety eyes. Message me for quote.

APPLIQUE (FOR LARGE DESIGN) $5
Large design on clothing is cut and appliqued to body of bear (must see item before ordering to make sure this is possible).
COAT/JACKET $15
Coat or jacket made from loved one’s clothing that bear can wear.
EMBROIDERED EYES $5
Embroidered eyes in choice of color (in place of glass safety eyes)
VEST $5
HEART PATCH WITH VERSE $10
Embroidered quilted heart patch with verse: “This is the shirt I used to wear, Whenever you hold it know I am there”. Heart is signed with loved one’s name.
BAGS/PURSES
Handmade bags/purses – can be customized. Monogramming available for additional fee.
CROSSBODY BAGS $30
Made from duck canvas or waterproof canvas – other fabric options available. Zipper closure, pocket on front – perfect for your cell phone! Adjustable strap.
SCRAPPY BAGS $40
Made from a variety of fabrics – fun colors and designs! Lined with two interior pockets. Snap or button/loop closure. Long or short straps – your choice. Can be made as a “Memory Scrappy Bag” with fabric items you provide. Can be customized per request.
THE EVELYN BAG $40
This fun bag is made from a heavier, upholstery-type fabric. Pocket on front perfect for cell phone. Bag is lined with one interior pocket and magnetic snap closure. Adjustable straps made from webbing. Can be customized per request (add’l charge).
THE STARBURN BAG $45
Adorable bag with hidden, secure credit card slots! It has two zipper pockets! Small bag with plenty of room for your phone & essentials. Adjustable straps made from webbing or fabric. Can be customized per request (add’l charge).
MEMORY QUILTS/TSHIRT QUILTS
TSHIRT QUILT $450
Tshirt Quilts are made from 20-25 adult tshirts, this quilt will have 20 – 15″ blocks and will measure approximately 60″ x 74″. Choice of cotton backing or fleece – choice of color. Includes quilt label. Can be customized to your specifications (may result in additional charges – quote will be given before order is accepted). Long-arm quilting. Others sizes available – quote upon request.
MEMORY QUILT Request a Quote
Memory Quilts can be made from shirts, pants, dresses, bandanas – whatever you choose. Can be made as blocks in rows and columns or as a “mosaic” with different sized blocks. Choice of cotton backing or fleece – choice of color. Can be customized to your specifications (may result in additional charges – quote will be given before order is accepted). Long-arm quilted. Size depends upon number of items incorporated into quilt.
BABY QUILT $150
Approximately 36″ x 44″, quilt will be in a block pattern with heart patch containing baby’s birth info or info/name of choice. Choice of color/theme.
QUILT LABELS $20
Embroidered quilt labels are available with your personalized sentiments and/or name for your Tshirt or Memory Quilt.
MEMORY/KEEPSAKE PILLOWS
MEMORY PILLOWS $65
Memory pillows can be made from one shirt or several shirts for a patchwork quilt effect. 16″ x 16″ (other sizes upon request). Heart Patch with verse included in price.
BABY BIRTH PILLOWS $65
Birth pillows can be made from hospital receiving blanket or fabric of choice. Birth info will be embroidered on patch (name, date, time, weight, etc). 16″ x 16″ (other sizes upon request). Perfect keepsake gift for new parents!
GRADUATION PILLOWS $65
White pillow customized with graduate’s name, school, date or choice of sentiment embroidered in color of you choice. Comes with fabric pen for signatures. . 16″ x 16″ (other sizes upon request)
TIE KEEPSAKE PILLOWS $75
Beautiful 18″ x 18″ envelope-style pillow made from 16 ties. A great way to honor a loved one. Includes heart patch with verse/name.
